Olive and Bette’s is the ultimate closet: candy colors, cozy cashmeres, delicious denim--clothes that take you from the city streets to a sandy beach and everywhere in between. Plus--a well-edited selection of accessories. Welcome to New York City's favorite neighborhood boutiques!
Founded by Stacey Pecor in her hometown, Burlington, Vermont, Olive and Bette's traveled to the Big Apple in 1996, with its first Manhattan store opening on the Upper West Side. While the store in Vermont has since closed, Olive and Bette's has grown to four locations in vibrant neighborhoods that span the length and width of Manhattan. Olive and Bette’s web boutique, oliveandbettes.com, was launched in December 2003. Our site was redesigned in fall 2006, and is a showcase of not only fabulous fashions, but features that recreate the unique experience of our stores 24/7, no matter your locale.
Olive and Bette’s sales associates are like the boutiques’ fans--fun, friendly, fashionable and faithful. Our clients come in all shapes and sizes, and from all walks of life: Upper West Side stroller moms, East Side private school girls, artists and out-of-town visitors in Soho and polished professionals in the West Village. On several occasions, shop girls have had to chase the paparazzi away so a “certain someone” can shop in solitude.
No doubt, you’ve seen Olive and Bette's in the press. Our must-have items have been featured in O, the Oprah Magazine, InStyle, Lucky and Vogue to name just a few, while exclusive tee shirts designed by Stacey and her shop girls have been given prominent attention in magazines such as People and Newsweek.
What’s more, Stacey, winner of Crain's New York Business “Entrepreneur of the Year” award, has shared her sage fashion advice with the industry's insider bible, Women's Wear Daily, as well as The Wall Street Journal, not to mention served as a smart and sassy Red Carpet Critic for Life & Style.
Whether you visit one of the stores, or spend time with us online, you're sure to enjoy a shopping experience like no other. We look forward to meeting you!
Oops, we almost forgot the answer to the most frequently asked question! It's Bette (bet tē), as in fashionable female icons Bette Davis and Betty Boop.
